SUMMARY:2017 Global Communications and Collaboration in Toxicology
DESCRIPTION:Estimado Invitado:\n\nMe complace invitarle al Café de Colaboración Global que se celebra en la Reunión Anual de SOT en el Centro de Convenciones de Baltimore / Sala 301 el lunes 13 de marzo de 9:30 am – 11:30 am.\nEste año\, el Café de Colaboración Global estará enmarcado en los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (SDCs) desarrollados por la ONU y adoptados por la OMS\, IUPAC y otros. Un rasgo distintivo de estos SDGs es alentar acciones que puedan ser tomadas por individuos y por organizaciones locales\, regionales\, nacionales e internacionales.\n\nLos temas de discusión en nuestro Global Collaboration Coffee se centrarán en los SDG que tienen acciones para: 1) Reducir el número de muertes y enfermedades provocadas por  productos químicos peligrosos\, y 2) Mejorar la orientación\, la educación y la investigación científica en todos los países.\nEl formato de Global Collaboration Coffee contará con un panel de expositores seguido por grupos de discusión. El programa detallado (horario y temas) se adjunta.\n\nIUTOX\, como ONG de la OMS\, está en una excelente posición para participar como organización de apoyo educando a sus sociedades miembros sobre los SDGs y alentándolos a participar. Esta actividad también constituye un excelente foro para que la IUTOX preste atención a la toxicología a nivel internacional apoyando a nuestras sociedades miembros con información sobre cómo pueden beneficiarse y contribuir a esta importante iniciativa internacional. ¿Cómo pueden nuestras organizaciones y nosotros como individuos apoyar estas metas? ¿Cómo lograr mejor los progresos hacia el logro de estos objetivos en nuestras comunidades / países / regiones? En nuestras reuniones nacionales\, regionales o internacionales\, como los Congresos IUTOX o las reuniones de CTDC? ¿Cuál es su consejo para identificar recursos\, cursos de CE\, mentores\, financiamiento u otros\, en su área local o regional o en su especialidad científica? Each table will have an assigned discussion leader and scribe. \n  \nThe topics of discussion will focus on approaches towards the SDGs related to: 1) Reducing the number of deaths and illnesses from hazardous chemicals\, and 2) Enhancing mentorship\, education and scientific research in all countries. How can our organizations and we as individuals support these SDGs? How can progress towards meeting these goals be best achieved in your community/country/region?  In your national societies\, at their annual meetings?  At  international and regional meetings\, such as IUTOX Congresses\, the SOT Annual Meeting\, Eurotox\, Asiatox\, Alatox meetings\, and/or other meetings? What is your advice for identifying resources\, courses\, funding or other materials\, in your local or regional area or in your scientific specialty? \nDiscussion Topics (25 min):  \nTopic 1             Reducing non-communicable diseases \n\nShould our Societies play active roles in the promotion of prevention strategies\, e.g.\, anti-smoking\, unhealthy diets\, etc.\, that decrease deaths from non-communicable diseases?\nWhat role might IUTOX play in developing policy positions or information sheets on key factors that lead to non-communicable diseases?\nHow can we develop strategies across national boundaries that promote these goals?\n\nTopic 2             Risk Assessments and Systematic Reviews \n\nCan we play a role in enhancing the international cooperation that is necessary to develop consistent risk assessment processes across countries?\nHow well is the process of systematic reviews understood?\nWhat are the critical gaps in knowledge where systematic reviews would be of assistance in decision making?\n\nTopic 3             Green Chemistry/Green Chemicals and the 3Rs \n–      Is there broad understanding within our communities of what green chemistry/green chemicals mean? \n–      How can a greater emphasis within our Societies on the production/use of green(er) chemicals help us attain the above goals? \n–     Do all our Societies promote the 3Rs?
